This book is about a telepathic waitress who gets thrown into the dangerous and exhilarating world of the supernatural.
Sookie, the main character, meets Bill the vampire and saves his life from drainers, humans who want to sell vampire blood on the black market. Bill and Sookie become a couple. There are murders in the area and the police suspect Bill because of the fang marks on the bodies. However then Sookie’s brother is romantically linked the victims and Sookie will do whatever she can to help her brother, including hanging out with vampires and using her telepathic powers to help Bill’s boss out. Will it all work out or will the police jail her brother and it would all have been for nothing?

This is the first book in the Southern Vampire Mysteries and it is now a leading T.V. show True Blood. People should read this book because it is exciting, has good plot lines and, best of all, it is near enough jam-packed with all things supernatural. The vampires are out and the shape shifters are close behind. The fae, which includes the fairies, goblins and elves, could come out at any time then the humans really are in trouble.

The Notebook is a heart wrenching novel about a young summer love. It focuses on the romance of Noah and Allie. They fall in love at first sight however her rich parents fight to end their love as Noah is poor and not ‘worthy’ of Allie. So they are separated as Allie moves.
But as the story goes, ‘You never forget your first love’. Will Allie ever get her‘Happily Ever After’ with Noah?
I’d encourage any girl/woman who loves to sink into a romantic novel to read this. But make sure you have a box of tissues beside and maybe a slab of chocolate!

The Blurred Man is one of the three short stories written by Anthony Horowitz after the success of his previous three: The Falcons Maltesers, South by South East and public Enemy Number Two.
The short stories consist of: The Blurred Man, The French Confection and I know what you did last Wednesday.

The blurred man is about Two Brothers called Nick and Tim, Tim is a private detective, but he has to be the worst private detective in the world. Nick is his younger brother his parents went to live in Australlia so he ran off the plane, he has been living with Tim and is alot smarter and often comes up with the ideas. They call themselves the diamond brothers even though their last name is Simple. Tim thought that diamond sounded cooler. A man called Joe Carter hires them to solve the mystery of a man called Lenny Smile. Lenny Smile is the owner of a charity called dream time which Carter gives millions to, Carter went to meet Smile, but he never showed. *SPOILER ALERT* Lenny Smile was run over by a steam roller and killed, but there is somethings that don’t make sense and it is the Diamond Brothers job to find out. I reccomend this book as it is exciting, has a good plot and a shocking ending. PICK UP THIS BOOK TODAY!

I think this is a good book because it has a lot of action and there is a lot of mythical creatures like demons, pixie’s and goblins. The main character Artemis fowl is a young man that is a genious and he has a giant bodyguard called butler who protects him wherever he goes. There is soon a problem when the demons are planning a war agianst earth and Artemis teleports with a warlock and his pixie friend to try and stop them. There’s a problem because butler is not with them and they get stuck in the demon world...what will happen? Dun Duun Duuuuuun!
I think everybody should read this book because it has a great story with lots of action in it.

It’s all about the ‘difficulties’ of a normal girl teenage life. Relationships, boys, crushes and being in love! As soon as I had finished this book I went to get the next one!

"Mockingjay" is the third instalment of the popular kids franchise of books ‘The Hunger Games’. It was written by Suzanne Collins and it is pretty interesting.
It is about a girl called Katniss who just won ‘The Hunger Games’ but her winning started up a war. The Hunger Games is a competition where you have to fight for survival. If you don’t kill, you will be killed. It is a very cruel way to remember their history. She then has to go to war and fight ‘The Capitol’. The Capitol are the people who are in charge of all the districts and run the hunger games.
Mockingjay is a very good book and is good for teenagers to read. If you are to read anything this year, make sure it is Mockingjay.

Although she is happy with her new family she still feels incomplete, so she sets out on a life changing trip to find her mother, whom she hasn’t seen since she was a child. On this trip she doesn’t travel as her boring old self she puts on her foster mothers blond wig and suddenly she is solace, her smart, brave and slightly terrifying alter ego.

I think people should read this book because it is filled with suspense, tragedy and humour. The characters are compelling and will have you both cheering them on and shedding a tear for them at the same time.

The Northern Lights is about an eleven year old girl called Lyra who lives in a parallel world. In that world everybody has a dæmon which is part of your soul but takes the shape of animal forms. Children’s dæmons can change forms while adult’s dæmons settle. In the world there is a particle called Dust and it goes in through your dæmon and runs into you. When Lyra discovers this by sneaking into the theatre room she wants to find out more but then her Uncle and her friend go missing. There is only one explanation in her mind who took them. The Gobblers!!! Things get weird when women called Mrs Coulter turns up on the scene. Lyra decides to head north, to save her uncle and friend.

You should read it because it has action all the way through the book from the start to finish and it has a great cliff hanger at the end.

New half-Vampire Darren is back in the third book in the Darren Shan series. This time sees him facing his fears in a very tunnel that he played in every day that has taken his brother's life.
Boys especially should read this it has a lot of action and non stop movement. You might get scared at night when you read it but trust me it's a good book.

Private Peaceful is a story about three brothers growing up in WW1 and there life throughout their childhood and as they progressed through there teenage years and as Charlie gets Molly (his girlfriend) pregnant. The three brothers were called Charlie, Tommo and Joe. As the war progressed on Charlie and Tommo were forced to sign up to the British Army by the colonel, if they refused to join the colonel was threatening to evict them. When Charlie is fighting out in the battlefield he comes to find in a letter from home saying that Molly is having her baby.

I recommend reading this book if you enjoy stories on war.

I didn’t really like this book it’s not my style but when you get into it you can’t stop reading it. This isn’t one of my favourite books, i wouldn’t read it again.

The second book in the alpha force series. In this book the kids are in ecuador trying to stop a drugs baron from using street kids to get the drugs to the buyers. They do this by telling them that they are presents for people who are trying to adopt them and then killing the street kids. Alex's dad is also on the case with the SAS but he thinks Alex is staying at Paulo's ranch for Christmas. Paulo goes deep undercover as a street kid but grows attached to a 6 year old clled Eliza.

you should read this book because it is just as good if not better than survival(the first book in the series) without one moment where the action stops.

We think that this is a really interesting story as it is a good adventure story.

The boy in the striped pyjamas is a book set in WW2. It is about a boy who has to move house to stay safe but it is next to a concentration camp however he doesn’t know that. He gets lonely and bored so he decides to go exploring. He comes across a fence but what was it for? Why was it there? He started to go to the fence everyday because he made a friend there called Shmuel who is Jewish. Is this good or bad?
I thought this book was interesting and suspending but some sad parts in it too, I would recommend it to teens and adults everywhere.

This book is about a orphan called Arthur Hobhouse that goes on a ship to Australia during the second world war as an evacuation plan. On this ship he meets a boy called Marty and they become best friends through out the book. When the ship docks at Sydney harbour the boys are astonished by how new it is because back then Australia was a brand new country. The boys are all put into groups and are sent into farms. Arthur and Marty are sent into a farm called coopers station. The man who owns the farm is called Mr Piggy and he is a Christian who is very strong about his beliefs and he makes the boys suffer as Jesus did.
I think you should read this book because it’s a very good read and it is also very entertaining. I would give this book a 9 out of 10.
